Markov Sergei Aleksandrovich

Markov S. A. was born in 1958.
At present time: candidate of political science, Director of the Institute of Political Studies, Docent of philosophy faculty of Moscow State University, professor of MGIMO, the coordinator of Club “Civil debates”, Head of National Civil Council on International Affairs, The member of Council on National strategy, the member of Board of Russian Political Science Association, the member of science Council by “Political journal”, The Head of the Committee that organizes during 9 years the Summer school on politics in Crimea, Science leader of program in political management and PR on philosophy faculty of Moscow State University.

1994-1997: a Programm Associate, the Carnegie Moscow Centre of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace
1990-1993 and 1993-1995: a consultant for Russian Parliament Committee on Political Parties and Social Groups
1992: a consultant for Security Council for the President of Russia
1989- till now: lectured political science in Moscow State University
1986: has graduated the Philosophy Department of the Moscow State University

Mr. Markov received his Ph. D. in political science at the Moscow State University in 1994. He participated in the Russian political life as an active member of political clubs, Social Democratic Party and the “Democratic Russia” Movement in 1987-1991.
Mr. Markov is an author of numerous articles in leading Russian and international dailies and weeklies and leading broadcasting companies, including “Nezavisimaya Gazeta”, “Segodnya”, “VEK”, “Izvestia”, ”The Moscow Times”, “Saint Petersburg Times”, “The New York Times”, “The Wall Street Journal”, “International Herald Tribune”, “Stern”, “The Times”, “Chicago Tribune”, “Los Angeles Times”, “Die Welt”, “Boston Globe”, “The Financial Times”, “The Economist”, “Sunday Times”, “The Newsweek”, WTN, TF-1, Sky News, Reuters, AFP, CNN, BBC, NBC, Fox TV, CBS, Radio Liberty and others.
In august-december 2004 was the leader of expert programs in Ukraine.

He is the author of numerous (more than 70 articles) articles and books, among which are:
